250,000 Live animals were exported through Brightlingsea during a nine month period.
24 Animals died.
28 were destroyed by M.A.F.F.
38 were unfit to travel any further.
The number of arrests related to animal exports were: 598 This affected: 483 individuals.
Of these people 421 were from the Tendring and Colchester area.
Over 1000 complaints against the police were made.
More than 150 convoys passed through the town.
The cost to the police was estimated at over £4million.
