Battle of Brightlingsea

Protestors mount a full scale demonstration outside a pub, where Ernest Oliver the wharf owner is drinking. Even though the protest had been going on for 3 months, Mr Oliver still felt safe enough to come into Brightlingsea to drink with his wife and friends. He lived in Frating, some 5 miles away, so he did not need to come into the town. To some people he was looking for trouble by socialising in Brightlingsea whilst to others he had a right to go where he pleased.
