Battle of Brightlingsea

27th May 1995.

The next week Mr Oliver was back drinking in his favourite pub and once again a demonstration was held. When it was closing time, Mr Oliver was about to drive off but he was stopped by the police because he had been drinking and had no minder to chauffeur him home. A taxi was called, Mr Oliver demanded that the police should take him home but the police told him no. The taxi arrived, the protestors told the driver who he was to pick up, and persuaded him to drive away without his fare. Another taxi was called, Mr Oliver demanded that the police should take him home once again, but they refused. The next taxi arrived and finally collected Mr Oliver.
