Battle of Brightlingsea
13th March 1995
Today
another demonstration, the protestors walking in front of the
lorries, the police, always pushing, to move them ever faster.
Complaints are made, the police are too rough to the elderly and
young. Mr Markham who is in overall control of the police,
assures those present that the police are behaving in the correct
manner, but there are casualties.
In this incident a police medic assists the injured women first, but in most cases it is left up to the Red Cross to attend to the demonstrators. The Red Cross are at all the demonstrations to care for the demonstrators and the police.
