Battle of Brightlingsea

7th-10th April

Another demonstration at the port gates. A protestor stumbles and falls, a helping hand is given. An arrest is made, one goes quietly the other not, confrontation is never far away. When it is all over the police relax, until the next time.

The vast majority of the protestors were local people who did not want the live animals exported through their town. Others were protesting over live animals being exported from anywhere, but whoever, to a man and women they wanted the protest to be peaceful. B.A.L.E. had to pronouce over and over again to the meetings and on the demonstrations, peaceful means only. After over two months they had succeeded in that goal, but still no convoys were stopped.
